In the Summer Term, Year 6 students go on an adventure of fun and discovery to mark the end of their time at Woodbridge Primary School, and to help prepare them for the next stage of their education at secondary level.
In the different and dramatic setting of the Peak District National Park, together they will have opportunities to learn about the landscape and the natural and human forces which have helped shape it, and, importantly, about themselves, and each other.
Away from home and familiar surroundings, in a safe, social and structured environment, they will enjoy the challenges of independence, physical activity such as climbing Stanage Edge, abseiling and hiking up Mam Tor (‘Mother Hill’), whilst tracing the evidence of its Iron Age Forts; experience the magical formations of Treak Cliff Cavern, re-live the moving story of the brave people of Eyam village during the Plague, and explore the splendour and scope of Chatsworth House.
