The National Curriculum

The National Curriculum is a set of subjects and standards used by schools to ensure that children learn the same things. It covers what subjects are taught and the standards children should reach in each subject. An effective National Curriculum gives teachers, pupils, parents, employers and the wider community a clear and shared understanding of the skills and knowledge that young people will gain at school.

The curriculum followed in each academic year for each subject can be seen by looking at the termly ‘Learning Posters’ for each class on their respective pages.
