Y6 Santa Dash

The Y6 class had an energetic start to the week, transforming a regular PE lesson into a fun Santa Dash. The children warmed up with a Santa dance in the classroom then completed circuits of the playground while wearing their Santa themed outfits. The class organised themselves into teams and had 25 minutes to complete as many laps as possible in their teams.
Overall, the class completed over 200 laps and everybody did brilliantly! Well done to our winning team ‘Jingle Jangles’  (Archie, Zach, George G and Vinny) who completed over 40 laps. These pictures show just how hard they ran! Great effort Y6.

Y6 Fashion in French

Here are a few pictures of our impromptu “Défilé de mode” (fashion show) on Christmas Jumper day bringing together Year 6’s learning in French about clothes and how to describe what someone is wearing.

Y6 Sand Stars

We have had great fun making sand Christmas stars. A very big thank you to George and his family for giving us everything we needed to make them.

Y6 Painting

Year 6 have shown their creative flair with their winter sky paintings. They practised mixing different tones of blue and painting some beautiful silhouettes.

Y6 Viking Clay

As part of our Viking topic we have been imagining what a Viking warrior might have looked like. First we made some sketches and this week have made them come to life by creating clay models. We found out that it wasn’t only men who were allowed to go on raids so you’ll see one or two female warriors amongst our designs.  We’ll let them dry out over the holidays and finish them off with a glaze in the new year.

Y6 Trip To St John’s Church

In our final trip of 2021, we looked around the church for evidence of Jesus being important to Christians, and made Christingles.
