Christmas has well and truly arrived in Year 1!
This week we have been looking at advent and investigating why we have advent calendars. We’ve learnt that advent means arrival in Latin and that Christmas is a Christian festival, celebrating the birth of Jesus, so an advent calendar helps us count down to Christmas!
We have also been looking at the themes of advent, love, hope, peace and joy. Each day we have been discussing a theme and have drawn and written some ideas that help us to remember each word. We have also been getting creative by making some lovely suncatcher baubles.
