Y2 – w/c 3rd May

Year 2 have had an exciting week this week: our butterflies emerged from their chrysalides and we have loved watching them! We labelled the parts of a butterfly and coloured them in the same colour as our painted ladies by observing them closely.

On Tuesday we came in and showed our curiosity about a wasp nest. We wrote questions, asked our friends what they thought and then used the tablets to try and find out some of the answers.
We also had a trip to the pond and found tadpoles, leeches, waterlice, pond snails and lots of other tiny little pond life creatures.
In computing, we have continued to learn about programming using Scratch Junior; this week we discussed commands and outcomes, and programmed our sprites. We discovered that if we put commands in a different order, they still have the same outcome.
In English, we are going to be writing instructions for how to make mosaic butterflies so we have been thinking about adverbs and imperative verbs – we discovered that there are lots of imperative verbs in the Superman song.
