Y1 – w/c 24th May

Early Maths work…
Continuing to look at the elements of a fairytale and writing about how we would escape the fox if we were the gingerbread boy/girl.
We’ve been watching our sunflowers grow and applying our plant knowledge, to make sure our seed gets enough air, sunlight, water and (most importantly) time to grow.
This week we compared the changes from last week and were very excited to see that they are getting taller.
Year 1 have worked so hard this week and I’m so proud of how they’ve settled back into a school routine this term! Here’s some of the things that we’ve been up to this week, during our afternoon free time.
We’ve been working on our social skills with Mrs Watson-Brown and created this sunflower of Kindness. It’s now happily sitting in our classroom library to remind of us of how to show kindness.
Mrs Barnes found another slow worm and was very lovely to allow Year 1 to see it. We were all very excited to see another slow worm, which was found in our wonderful pond area.
Enjoying our independent Friday activities in the glorious sunshine.
Choosing time and dance yoga.
