Year 1 w/c 16th May – Bee Week

We have had such a lovely week learning about bees. We have learnt how they help the flowers through pollination, that their tongues are like straws, the different types of bees we would find in the UK, and other amazing things about bees.

Despite the rain, we had a fantastic visit to Spring Farm Barn, where we met a a beekeeper. Sam gave us even more facts about bees, let us taste some of her delicious honey (thank-you bees) and we got to try on a beekeeper suit.

We had lots of fun feeding willow branches to Merlin, Prince and Ringo, searching for eggs in the chicken coop and pond dipping.

It’s been such a fun week and creative week in Y1.
