This week in F1 we have been learning all about nocturnal animals and the differences between light and dark. The children have enjoyed looking at how light enables us to make shadows and we have made puppets to explore this. By using our communication skills we have been retelling the story of the book Owl Babies to each other. We have used our creativity to make our own owls using loose parts on the lightbox; we have found out about different types of owls and where they live. In the woodland this week, we had fun finding the hidden tawny owl. We listened carefully to the owl calls to see if we were getting close. Lucie found a really good hiding place and we persevered to find it.
