Dress up for World Book Day & Open Library Session for families
World Book Day is just around the corner – on 2nd March – and, to celebrate, we are asking children to come to school dressed as a character from a book that they’ve read, or that has been read to them by their teacher or someone at home. If the children would like to bring the book with them to school to share in their class, they can.
World Book Day is a brilliant reminder of how important books are and, with the success of the recent story writing competition, we are going to use World Book Day to launch our next library competition. The details can all be found in the poster below.
There is no doubt that throughout the day on World Book Day many classes will be able to make use of our brilliantly stocked (and now very beautifully decorated) library.
In addition to this though, we’d love for you and your child to be able to enjoy the library space together, for you to see all the new books bought by WPS families and local businesses, for you to help them choose a book to share at home, or to do one of the library activities and enjoy some quiet quality time so, with that in mind, we are going to be opening the library on the following dates and times and we’d love to see as many of you as possible there:
Tuesday 7th: 3.30 – 4.30 – EYFS and KS1 families
Tuesday 14th: 3.30 – 4.30 – Year 3 and 4 families
Tuesday 21st: 3.30 – 4.30 – Year 5 and 6 families
We look forward to seeing the wonderful outfits on the day and hearing all about the characters they’re dressed as!
