Miss Sutherland runs the London Marathon

Update from Miss Sutherland…

At 7am on Sunday 4th October, five Felixstowe Road Runners and I set off for the virtual London Marathon in a rainy and windy Felixstowe.
We did a 5.78 mile loop four times, along the route we had three other Felixstowe Road Runners who had set up ‘stations’ outside their houses for us, with bananas, cereal bars, sweets and water to keep us going.
The final lap was a shorter one, going down some different roads to finish along the prom.
It was a great day, I’ve raised nearly £2000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust for the 2020 London Marathon.
I’m looking forward to receiving my second London Marathon medal in the post 😀 xx
On Sunday, Miss Sutherland (our Y3 teacher)  should be running her second London Marathon for the Teenage Cancer Trust but, instead, she is going to do the virtual London Marathon in Felixstowe.
Along with five other Felixstowe Road Runners (socially distanced), she will be doing doing 4 laps of 5.78 miles and the last lap will be shorter.
Miss Sutherland has been telling her Y3 children all about the experience and also showed them a clip of a Blue Peter presenter doing the marathon.
Good luck! What an inspiration!
