It’s been a busy week in Year 4 as the children bake, act and interact with each other to develop their creativity and literacy.
Bake Off
The children in year 4 have designed, created, baked and iced amazing vegan cookies, with a rainforest insect theme. They showed great craftsmanship to bake and decorate their beautiful creations. After some difficult judging, 13 bakes were selected to appear alongside Mrs Girling as she takes part in the television show, ‘The Bake Off, an Extra Slice.’ Keep an eye out to see whether the bakes make the editor’s cut!
Acting Inspired By Language
We extracted language from the text The Great Kapok Tree and had to act out a chosen word. The rest of our group had to guess the word we’d chosen. This helps us to widen our vocabulary and deepen our understanding of the text.
