Comic Relief Day and World Book Day

There are a couple of ‘dressing up’ days coming up in the diary and we wanted to give you as much warning as possible because we are aware that they may take some thought and the days are also close together!

March 7th is World Book Day. This is a day we normally celebrate with authors and events but we haven’t dressed up in recent years….well, due to the FOWPS fundraising drive this year, we will be inviting the children to come dressed as a book character and pay a donation (suggested £1) to do so. We would like the child to bring the book with them or use a library copy. This will all go towards the new interactive screens. Inspiration can be found on the World Book Day website https://www.worldbookday.com/dressing-up.

March 15th is Comic Relief Day. The Student Council have taken suggestions from every class and they have decided upon two themes of ‘dress as your comedy hero’ or ‘wear a funny hat or hair’. This will be a non-uniform day and the children are welcome to put as much or as little effort into the themes as they wish! Their comedy hero doesn’t have to be famous…it could be their mum, the milkman or even Mrs Stanley! All donations will go to Comic Relief. Red Noses will also be available to purchase through the school closer to the date.
