Christmas assemblies – didn’t they do well!

What a week it’s been, with fantastic performances of music, dance and poetry from across the year groups. Nearly everyone has had a chance to perform, leaving F1 and F2 to complete the schedule on Monday. We hope that you’ve enjoyed the videos that we’ve sent so far. Here are some snaps that we’ve managed to take throughout the week.

Christmas Jumper Day – Tuesday 14th December

Tuesday is set to be a bumper day of festive fun! The classrooms will be decorated for Christmas Lunch, followed by an online showing of ‘Aladdin’  courtesy of FOWPS. It’s also a Christmas Jumper day (suggested donation £1) giving your child a chance to wear their favourite sparkly number once again! All funds raised will go towards the Derbyshire trip.

Santa’s Grotto & Raffle Draw – Thursday 16th December

On Thursday, Santa himself will visit the playground to give presents to the children from his outdoor grotto. He will also draw the lucky winning hampers, so make sure you buy your tickets from Leanne next week for a chance to win!

Joyeux Noel

Here are some examples of Christmas cards that Y5 have sent to their pen friends in France. Inside, they told their pen friend about things they like doing and things they like about Christmas.

Free Food Club

Groundwork East is putting on free local events for families in the Christmas holidays. These fun events centre around preparing and enjoying easy and healthy meals and discussions about where our food comes from. There will be fun activities, as well as learning to prepare a simple meal, and each child will take home activities to enjoy at home. The events are aimed predominantly at the families of children receiving free school meals. Please see the Melton Flyer or Wickham Market Flyer for details.
