Changes in school from next week

This is a reminder of two key changes taking place from Monday of next week:

All children to wear PE Kit on PE Days

Your child should come dressed in PE Kit on the days that they do PE, which are:

  • F1 – Wednesday (no official PE kit, just clothes that are comfy and easy to move in)
  • F2 – Friday
  • Year 1 – Thursday
  • Year 2 – Fridays
  • Year 3 – Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Year 4 – Monday and Wednesdays
  • Year 5 – Wednesday and Fridays
  • Year 6 – Mondays and Fridays (swimming)

Changes to drop off

  • The Love Lane gate will be open from Monday morning for entrance into the playground and is open to everyone that wishes to use it. (This is an update on other communications sent out earlier this week which restricted the use to Years 3-6).
  • You may also enter school via the main school gate – whichever is more convenient for your morning drop-off.
  • Once in the playground, F1 should make their way to the side entrance (previously the 3/4 gate) – all other children should go to their classroom entrances.

Parent consultations – w/c 14th February

In line with our lifting of restrictions, parent consultations will take place in-school w/c 14th February. If you are unable to make the in-school appointment, then you will have the option of a phone call. You will receive an email next week with details about the dates/times and teachers, along with a link to the online booking system. As usual, we will give you advanced notice of when the booking system is set to open.

FOWPS coffee morning

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join Friends of Woodbridge Primary School (FOWPS) – the school PTA. This is an exciting time to get involved as we open up the school, and we welcome everyone, both seasoned PTA members and new faces, to join us for a ‘coffee morning’ next week.

It will be held in the school hall at 09.10-10.10am next Friday 11th February so that you can come along after drop-off. Mrs Daly would love to see lots of faces there! We will explain what FOWPS is, our plans for the year, and most importantly, the many ways that volunteers can play a part in making our school a fun place to be. Lots of coffee (tea, and biscuits) and a warm welcome guaranteed!

  • See how fundraising could fit with your family life
  • Share suggestions & ideas

To give us an idea of numbers, please complete this form by Thursday 10th February and ensure that you take a LFD test before coming into school. Thank you!

Y6 U11 set to play at Inspire

Some of the Y6 pupils will compete for the school at the U11 Y6 Basketball Tournament which takes place on Tuesday afternoon at Inspire, Ipswich. We’ll let you know how they get on!

Freya’s 22 Challenge

F2’s Freya is hopping or jumping 22 times a day for FOWPS Twos Tuesday Challenge! She also likes to wear a dressing up costume for each day of the challenge – as you can see from the photos, she has dressed up as Cinderella and as The Queen of Hearts. Well done Freya!

If you’d still like to join in the fun, then make sure to check out FOWPS flyer for details.
