World Book Day 2022

We had a fantastic day across the school.  Years 1 and 2 had a trip to Woodbridge Library where they were able to use their new library cards and also listen to stories read by librarian Amy. Our Reading Friends scheme came to life throughout the day, with the younger children ‘buddying up’ with older children to help hear them read. Mrs Daly visited each class at lunchtime to judge the childrens’ costumes – the winners will be announced in the Stars Assembly on Monday. You can see lots of pictures from each year group further down this newsletter page!

School meals – price increase from Easter

This is just to let you know that there will be a small price increase for school meals after Easter. The daily charge will go from £2.30 to £2.35. We will send reminder information nearer the time.

Y3 and Y4 – collecting at hometime

As it’s getting a little crowded in the playground during pickup, please can you collect Y3 children from the Y3 shelter and the Y4 children from the garden area just outside the wood. Thank you for your understanding.

Red Noses on sale

The Y6 team has been busy selling the jungle-themed red noses in the playground. If you would like your child to have one, then please have £1.50 cash ready and visit the white ‘honesty stall’ in the playground. They plan to be there before and after school every day until 18th March except Friday mornings. We will be encouraging your children to ‘dress in red’ for Comic Relief for a voluntary donation of £1. We will send a reminder in advance.

Clubs re-start

Sports clubs re-started this week. We have been lucky enough to enjoy good weather for netball, football and multi-sports. The Y5/6 football club saw some good gameplay, assisted by volunteer coach Nigel.

Sports Hall of Fame

Noah played in the u10 boys hockey tournament on 27.2.2022 against other teams from all over Suffolk. They won the tournament and qualified for the East of England regional final in May. Well done Noah!
