Bake Off Fun

This week has given us plenty of time to reflect as well as have fun. The buzz on Monday morning was about Mrs Girling and her star appearance on Bake Off: An Extra Slice. We hope you managed to catch the broadcast, but if not, here are a few images of the moment the Y4 cookies appeared to the nation! Well done Y4!

Beautiful Remembrance Photos

During the week, we received some wonderful photos courtesy of the Royal British Legion. Please take a moment to look at Y5’s attendance at the Children’s School Remembrance Service on Friday 12th November, where you can see the children meeting and chatting to the soldiers from 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment and veterans.

Anti Bullying Week

Monday kicked off Anti Bullying Week where the children were encouraged to wear odd socks in celebration of their individuality. Thank you for supporting this initiative – we saw some truly fantastic odd combinations, from neon football socks to subtly different prints and colours. Next week, we’ll share some of the projects that the children created around the theme of ‘One Kind Word.’

BBC Children In Need

To top off the week, we celebrated BBC Children In Need. As you can see from our photo gallery, the children had a lovely time wearing their Spots and Stripes, eating Pudsey biscuits and doing some mindful Pudsey colouring. More pictures to follow next week!

Willow Garden

Thank you to all the Willow Garden After School Team for helping to make the lovely Pudsey bunting, with a shout out to Hector who spent hours stapling the flags together. It looks great! Thank you too for your suggested £1 donation – we’ll let you know our fundraising total next week.

Spots or Stripes?

Mrs Daly also set each class a mini Maths challenge: to find out how many children were wearing stripes and how many were wearing spots. And guess what: overall, we’re a SPOTTY school! Check out Y6’s very nice Venn diagram which shows their working!

Finally – if you prefer to donate electronically, please visit the Woodbridge Primary JustGiving page for Children In Need.

… It’s Beginning To Sound Like Christmas!

During the week, there has been a growing sense of something stirring: yes, Christmas! The sound of children’s voices is once again floating from the hall. It is so nice to hear them once again. Of course, we know you’re keen to learn what we have planned this year. We can reveal that we will be putting on bubbled Christmas Assemblies for each year group, and yes, you can come and watch! We’re working on the finer details to bring lots of sparkle this Christmas. We will update you with times, dates and fun very soon.

Just a reminder that the deadline for ordering and paying for your child’s Christmas Lunch is Wednesday 24th November.

Miss Nicholls – Marathon Walk

On Sunday 24th October (a little later than anticipated) Miss Nicholls took on an amazing personal challenge  – to walk the full marathon distance (that’s 26.2 miles!). Her journey took her from Bawdsey to Sizewell via the coastal path, a challenging but beautiful route taking in trail, sand and shingle. Miss Nicholls would like to thank everyone from the school community for their generous donations to her Just Giving page, which will raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). You can see some pictures of the walk below.
