What an amazing week!
As well as double star assembly celebrations, Y6 shone super-brightly in their trip to Inspire on Tuesday where they not only participated in their first inter-school event for many months – but actually won it too! The team, made up of girls and boys, competed against Ipswich primaries to be crowned U11 basketball champions.
The children all demonstrated incredible levels of sportsmanship, with a special mention to Archie, who was commended for being the school’s Fair Player. You can see lots of pictures in the Y6 Class News page. Their trophy will take pride of place in our new trophy cabinet! We’re so excited that this is the first of many competitions to take place between now and July, which will enable many more children, (across all year groups), to participate in the fun.
Finally, a big thank you to all you lovely parents who attended our FOWPS Coffee Morning today. We’re very excited about our fundraising plans and will meet again after half term to set the agenda for the academic year. If you weren’t able to attend, but are interested in finding out more, please call the office for a chat or email firstname.lastname@example.org. This is just one way we plan to engage parents in school life – we will also be sending details about the Parent Forum, so watch this space!

PE Kit & Clubs
It’s good to see the children wearing their PE kit on their designated PE days. To clarify, please ensure that children only wear PE kits on these days (and not also the days that they do tennis or an after school activity). We will be reviewing this once clubs start after half term and will give you advance notice of any changes. We will also send you reminders about the clubs that you have signed up for before we break for half term.
New playing area
As many of you will have seen, construction is under way in the playground! Mr Chatten Berry has built a fence and is waiting for a gate to arrive which will create an additional playground area for the Willow Garden children and also the rest of the school. We will be cultivating the grass to make it an engaging place to relax and enjoy!
Dropping off – F2, Y1, Y2
For safeguarding, please walk your children to the back of their classroom and wait with them so that they can be received by the teacher or TA. (Rather than dropping them off at the side gate). Thank you.
Fish & Chip Thursday
The children will receive their Friday Hot Menu on Thursday this week in line with the school closure on Friday for the Queen’s Jubilee holiday.
Parent consultations – next week
Thank you for signing up to the online booking system. If you have yet to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher, please log in on this link as there may be slots available. Once you’ve entered your child’s details, please refer to the appropriate day from the timetable below. All appointments will be held in school unless you specifically wish to receive a phone call, which you can do by entering your number in the ‘Notes to Teachers’ box.
Please enter the school via the front entrance and make your way to the chairs outside your child’s classroom. Mrs Daly will be on site to guide you if you are unsure where to go. Please ensure that you have a negative LFD test prior to coming in. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you next week.

Sports Hall of Fame
Congratulations to George T and Zach from Y6 who play for Woodbridge Woodpeckers. They assisted their team to win all but one match this season, allowing the team to go up a league. George is also the team captain. Well done boys!
FOWPS coffee morning
It was great to see so many faces at the FOWPS coffee morning today. We discussed the exciting plans that we have for school life and generally got to know each other! If you’d like to know more about joining FOWPS, please drop Rosie in the office an email on email@example.com to learn more.
Twos Tuesday – The Fun Continues!
Jude in Y1 has decided to learn how to say hello, in a different language, every day for 20 days. He is writing them down too, here is a photo of his languages so far. He has already raised £15! Go Jude!
Henry (Y5) and Teddy (Y2) are doing the 02.22 teeth cleaning challenge! They will be timed every day until the March deadline for cleaning their teeth for 2mins and 22 seconds! They’re also planning car washing and other merriment in the spirit of raising funds! Here is a picture of the teeth cleaning about to begin!
There’s still time to join in the fun! Here’s the FOWPS flyer with details.
