Learning Journeys

Throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), each child’s development will be observed, assessed and monitored by the adults. These assessments will be made in relation to the ‘development matters’ points in the EYFS framework. Assessments are made on a cumulative set of observations and knowledge of the whole child. We use information from previous settings, information from home, every day observations, photographs and knowledge of the child to help us to assess a particular development matters point.

From Spring Term 2020, we will be using EExAT Early Excellence Assessment Tracker as our online assessment system.

Instead of using the paper book way of recording key moments in your child’s life, we will be able to instantly upload to observations, photos and videos to this online system. You can even share your own photos and short videos from home with your child’s teachers.

Safety and Security

The safeguarding of children is incredibly important to us and EExAT meets our security and safeguarding requirements. You will only have access to your own’s child’s Learning Journal and this cannot be see by other parents. We ask that you do not share photos or videos from your child’s Leaning Journal on social media or any other platforms.
