Funding Information

15 Hours Free Childcare Available to All

All families are currently entitled to 15 hours of free childcare for each 3 -4-year-old per week (more information here).

This funding is available in the term following their 3rd birthday. Guardians choose how they wish to access their 15 hours, which can cover morning, lunchtime and afternoon sessions to suit their needs. We will always try to work with the needs of the family and support the best we can.

We accept applications year-round and in advance. Children will be offered a place if space is available in their requested sessions.

30 Hours of Extended Free Childcare

Eligible 3 & 4 year old children will be able to access up to 30 hours of free provision per week at our Little Willows Nursery. You can check your eligibility online.
Eligible guardians will receive an 11-digit code that must be entered on the funding form, known as a PAF (more about this below!)

Questions about additional help with childcare costs?

The UK government provides lots of useful information on starting your child’s nursery and school journey on the ‘Best Start in Life’ website.

Nursery Timetable

Our Little Willows Nursery runs 5 days a week during term time [see our school term dates]

If you need more than 15 hours but are not eligible for the extended free provision, or have already claimed your funding at a different setting, you can purchase additional sessions. These are invoiced through our internal guardian system, called Arbor.

How to apply

Our office team will support families with their application to the Little Willows Nursery. To apply for a place in our nursery, please complete the application form below and return it to the school. Paper copies are available upon request.

Step 1:

Complete an application form and return it to the school office in person or via email.

Please read over the Charges and Remissions document for further information about our Nursery.

Step 2:

Successful applicants will be asked to complete a Parent Authorisation Form (PAF). This allows us to claim the 15 or 30 hours of government funding.  If you will only be paying for sessions, you do not need to complete a PAF.

We will also ask for the following:

  • Bring in your child’s birth certificate or passport (we will take a photocopy)
  • complete a ‘collections’, ‘all about me’ and ‘woodland nursery session’ form

Step 3:

We can then arrange a taster session for you and your child to meet the staff and settle into their new learning environment.

  • Children under 3 must be accompanied for the duration of their taster session.
  • Children 3+ can have a grown-up stay or drop-off, whichever is most appropriate for that child and their needs.
  • If your child attends for half days, we will book a 2-hour session reflective of their schedule.
  • If your child attends for full days, we will book two 2-hour sessions on different days, reflective of their sessions.

For example, if they attend all day Monday – Thursday, we could book a morning session on Tuesday and an afternoon session on Thursday.

Your child will then be ready to start their Little Willows Nursery Journey with us!

We understand that all children respond to this journey differently, and are always here to listen if you have any questions or concerns. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. [contact us]
