Royal Celebrations

Today we marked The coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom. All week children have been crafting crowns and learning about the new King and those who came before him.

Celebrations began with a lunch fit for royalty, including traditional fish & chips and a delightful strawberry coronation Muffin baked by our lovely kitchen team. Heading into the afternoon, preparations for the FOWPS Coronation were threatened by a storm, however, the clear skies prevailed as families joined the children and staff in the playground to sing the national anthem.

Miss Crossley and Dr Hopkins – the Chair of Governors – then planted two commemorative rosebushes to honour the coronation occasion and the remarkable reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II. A delicious cake sale and raffle then took place, with lots of fantastic treats fit for any king or queen!

Thank you to the FOWPS team for organising this brilliant event for the children and to the families who made it happen through bake-sale donations.

A Bingo Bonanza!

The beginning of the summer term saw a bingo bonanza in the school hall, where children (and their families!) were both competitors and companions as they raced to get their numbers dabbed in – A fantastic time was had by all, with children from all year groups attending; FULL HOUSE!

Thank you to FOWPS for organising the event, and shout-out to Mrs Watson-Brown for channelling her inner bingo caller, even creating her own numerical nicknames such as a ‘Duck and a Bowtie’… number 28!

Dust of Your Dancing Shoes For the Neon Disco!

It was a night to remember for sure, eternally cemented
in our memories for the glow sticks, sugar and dancing.
What a night! Huge Thanks to each and every one of
you who supported and joined the party. We’re looking
forward to getting started on organising the next one!

Many thanks, The FOWPS Team
