Ice Pop Fridays

Every Friday this half-term, we will be holding our ICE POP FRIDAYS! Each Friday after school we invite the kids to bring in 50p to buy a delicious ice pop and celebrate the end of a busy week.

Woodbridge Wild West Bonanza

This year’s summer fair is themed the Woodbridge Wild West Summer Bonanza and will be held on Saturday, July 1 between 12 pm and 3 pm.

It’s shaping up to be a fabulous day out, with live entertainment, bouncy castles, pony rides, a barbecue, ice creams, a saloon bar and Wild West games galore. There will also be a raffle with some amazing prizes, and we’ll have two former Ipswich Town legends on hand for a penalty shoot-out.

BYO bottles for free kids’ drink refills at the ‘watering hole’. Save the date and spread the word. Everyone’s welcome.

Money raised will go towards new outdoor equipment for the playground. Details to be announced soon!

Thanks for all your support, and we hope to see you there – The FOWPS Team

This year’s school summer fair is themed the Woodbridge Wild West Summer Bonanza, and it’s shaping up to be a cracker!
There’ll be live entertainment, bouncy castles, free pony rides, a barbecue, a saloon bar and Wild West games galore.

We need your help to bring it to life – setting up, helping out on stalls, and clearing up at the end.
There are 66 slots to be filled on stalls alone, so please, please do give us any time you are able to share. It really does take a village.

Setting up will start on Friday, June 30 between 9 am and 3 pm – any time you can spare during those hours would be most welcome. The event will run from 12-3 pm on Saturday, July 1.

Sign-up sheets will be out in the playground soon – please grab a slot (and one for any willing relatives/neighbours or secondary-aged siblings you can rope in). -Don’t make us send the County Sheriff out to get ya.

This will be fabulous fun for our children and the school community, as well as a great fundraiser.

To pick a volunteering slot in advance, please email

Tombola Time

We’d love you to donate to our ever-popular Tombola and Sweet Tombola stalls. We’re all crossing our fingers for a sunny day so please no unboxed chocolate (and no nuts, of course), but we’d be delighted to receive the following:

  • For the Sweet Tombola stall – bags, cones, boxes or packets of sweets that can be given as individual prizes. Jelly beans, marshmallows, wine gums, millions … we love them all.
  • For the Big Tombola stall – any new items that will bring a smile to a lucky winner. A box of crayons, bottle of wine, cuddly toy, tin of food, picture frame, book or a jar of sauce. Be creative but most of all, be generous (or ruthless in clearing out your cupboards).

Donations can be left on the table in the playground at pick-up/drop-off this week (W/C 5th June) . The deadline for contributions will be 23rd June.

Royal Celebrations

Today we marked The coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom. All week children have been crafting crowns and learning about the new King and those who came before him.

Celebrations began with a lunch fit for royalty, including traditional fish & chips and a delightful strawberry coronation Muffin baked by our lovely kitchen team. Heading into the afternoon, preparations for the FOWPS Coronation were threatened by a storm, however, the clear skies prevailed as families joined the children and staff in the playground to sing the national anthem.

Miss Crossley and Dr Hopkins – the Chair of Governors – then planted two commemorative rosebushes to honour the coronation occasion and the remarkable reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II. A delicious cake sale and raffle then took place, with lots of fantastic treats fit for any king or queen!

Thank you to the FOWPS team for organising this brilliant event for the children and to the families who made it happen through bake-sale donations.

A Bingo Bonanza!

The beginning of the summer term saw a bingo bonanza in the school hall, where children (and their families!) were both competitors and companions as they raced to get their numbers dabbed in – A fantastic time was had by all, with children from all year groups attending; FULL HOUSE!

Thank you to FOWPS for organising the event, and shout-out to Mrs Watson-Brown for channelling her inner bingo caller, even creating her own numerical nicknames such as a ‘Duck and a Bowtie’… number 28!
