About Tim Wesson: Tim lives in Bawdsey and works as a children’s book illustrator, so he has a lot of experience with groups of young children at books events and schools. He also loves playing chess and plays in the Suffolk League. He runs chess clubs at other local schools and also coaches the beginners for CGCI (Cambridge Girls Chess Initiative). Tim draws on his own chess experience and refers to the ‘Chess in Schools’ Curriculum guide. I also attended one of their training days. Tim believes that playing chess develops mental strength and self-confidence that goes well beyond the chess board. It’s a great game!
